Kumite Events at the 2025 Tournament

In 2025, the NYC Karatedō International Championship will add kumite (sparring) events for the first time. Plans are still being formalized, but they will include:

November 9th, 2025 [Sunday]

• Youth Kumite (ages 8 to 11)
• Teen Kumite (ages 12+)

The format will follow a point-fighting format, and will generally follow WKF rules, as modified by the US National Karate Federation (a unit of the US Olympic movement).
