Kata Events at the 2025 Tournament

In 2025, the NYC Karatedō International Championship will add kata events for the first time. Plans are still being formalized, but they will include:

November 8th, 2025 [Saturday]

• Adult Men Kata
• Adult Women Kata

November 9th, 2025 [Sunday]

• Juniors Kata (ages 5 to 7)
• Youth Kumite (ages 8 to 11)
• Teen Kumite (ages 12+)
• Mentor Division (ages 10+)

The format will generally follow WKF rules, as modified by the US National Karate Federation (a unit of the US Olympic movement).
